CAMP CURRICULUM

DAY 1 – Free GK Camp Curriculum – Foundations: Set, Catch, Positioning Camp Goal (Day 1): Introduce beginner goalkeepers to set position, basic catching, simple low saves, and basic positioning, in a fun, safe environment. Group Size: 12 goalkeepers (3 groups of 4) 9:00–9:10 – Welcome & Demo Introductions and safety overview Explain that mistakes are part of learning Demonstrate: -Set position (feet shoulder-width, knees bent, hands in front) -W-catch (above waist) -Basket catch (below waist) 9:10–9:30 – Dynamic Warm-Up & GK Movement (Whole Group) -Light jog, skips, side shuffles, high knees, butt kicks -Goalkeeper-specific movement: -Cone zig-zags in set position -Forward/backward shuffles -Focus: small, quick steps; stay on toes 9:30–9:50 – Learning to Catch (Whole Group) -3 lanes, 4 goalkeepers per lane (working in pairs) Progression: -W-catches at chest height -Basket catches below waist “Freeze” catches (hold for 2 seconds to check technique) -Coaching focus: eyes on the ball, hands behind the ball, secure to chest 9:50–9:55 – Water Break #1 9:55–10:20 – Footwork + Handling (3 Stations) 3 groups of 4 rotate through: -Station 1 (Goal 1): Cone arc + catch Shuffle around 3 cones → set → coach/partner tosses to hands -Station 2 (Goal 2): Straight-line footwork + catch Forward/back steps over cones → set → catch -Station 3 (Flat area): Technical review / mini-games -Hand shape checks, freeze catches, short chest passes 10:20–10:40 – Intro to Low Balls (2 Stations) Split into 2 groups of 6: -Station 1 (Goal 1): Kneeling and standing scoops -Start kneeling, then progress to standing scoops from slow rolls -Station 2 (Flat area): “Body behind ball” channel Step into line of the ball and scoop with chest over the ball -Swap groups after ~10 minutes. 10:40–10:45 – Water Break #2 10:45–11:10 – Basic Positioning Game (2 Goals) -2 groups of 6 (one group at each goal) -Shooter at cone 8–10 yards out Goalkeepers rotate in goal every 2–3 shots -Focus: standing on the line between the ball and the middle of the goal, not on the posts 11:10–11:30 – Distribution with Hands (3 Stations) -3 groups of 4 rotate through: -Station 1: Underarm rolls through cone gates -Station 2: Two-hand chest passes to partners -Station 3: “Target knockdown” using cones or discs 11:30–11:35 – Water Break #3 11:35–12:00 – Small-Sided GK Games (3 Mini-Fields) -3 mini-fields, 4 goalkeepers per field -2v2 games with rotating goalkeepers every few minutes -Focus: set position, clean catches, simple rolls to teammates

DAY 2 – Free GK Camp Curriculum – Safe Diving, Low Saves, Simple 1v1s Camp Goal (Day 2): -Introduce safe diving mechanics, low saves, simple 1v1 shape, and reinforce distribution and confidence. Group Size: 12 goalkeepers (3 groups of 4) 9:00–9:10 – Review & Activation Quick review of set position and catching -Ask players to show W-catch and basket catch 9:10–9:30 – Warm-Up & Safe Falling (Whole Group) -Dynamic warm-up Kneeling side falls with ball: -Tip to side, land on side/shoulder, ball to chest -Focus: chin tucked, land on side (not elbows) 9:30–9:50 – Intro to Diving (3 Stations) -3 groups of 4 rotate through: -Station 1: Kneeling side falls with ball (short rolls to side) -Station 2: Squat step + fall (small step then controlled fall) -Station 3: Dry technique (no ball) – rehearse step → dive motion slowly 9:50–9:55 – Water Break #1 9:55–10:20 – Learning to Dive Low (2 Goals) -2 groups of 6 (one per goal) Shooter 4–5 yards away Low passes/rolls just outside goalkeeper’s feet line -Focus: step first, then dive; hands to ball first, land on side 10:20–10:40 – Footwork + Low Saves Circuit (3 Stations) -Station 1: Ladder / cone zig-zag + front catch -Station 2 (Goal 1): Side shuffle + low scoop -Station 3 (Goal 2): Step + low dive to side 10:40–10:45 – Water Break #2 10:45–11:10 – Simple 1v1 Shape (2 Channels) -2 side-by-side lanes, 6 goalkeepers per lane -Attacker dribbles slowly from 8–10 yards Goalkeeper: Starts on angle line Takes small steps forward Sets when attacker gets close Focus: don’t back into goal, stay big and balanced 11:10–11:30 – Distribution Game (3 Stations) -Station 1: Rolls to mini-goals -Station 2: Short passes with feet to cone gates -Station 3: First-touch + pass (receive, control, pass) 11:30–11:35 – Water Break #3 11:35–12:00 – GK World Cup (3 Mini-Fields) -3 mini-fields, 4 goalkeepers each -Short 3–4 minute games, rotate goalkeepers Extra points for: Good set position Clean low saves Smart distribution decisions
